A new ePlanning solution will take South Australian planning online, reshaping how practitioners and communities engage with the state’s new planning system.

South Australians will be able to access planning information and services 24 hours a day using their computer, phone or tablet.

The objectives of the ePlanning solution are to:

  • Implement the SA Planning Portal -  a central planning website which will be a whole-of-government repository for planning information backed by a planning database, containing relevant planning rules and spatial information with links to councils, agencies, communities and other participants in the planning system
  • provide a searchable online atlas, enabling users easy access to planning information with the ability to tailor information to suit their needs and produce council-based zoning maps
  • allow users to lodge online applications and have visibility of the status and decision-making processes
  • enable access to reliable activity and performance monitoring.

What’s next

The ePlanning solution will progressively bring the elements of our new planning system online through the SA Planning Portal. In early 2017, there will be new ways to engage online and greater access to planning information.
