The Building Policy Unit's objective is to ensure the built environment is safe, healthy and livable for all South Australians now and into the future. The Unit undertakes its functions with a view to minimising the need for regulation and encouraging innovative solutions and outcomes.

Training opportunities for 2019

Conference: Strengthening compliance and enforcement in the building industry

A conference is being held on 25-26 June 2019 in Sydney focussing on strengthening compliance and enforcement in the building industry. The conference addresses the reforms underway nationwide to address the issues of non-compliant building products and the recommendations from the Shergold Weir Building Confidence Report.

Summit: fire safety and cladding

The 2nd annual fire safety and cladding summit will be held on 16-17 July 2019 in Melbourne. The summit will discuss latest happenings in the construction industry around combustible cladding, the Lacrosse judgement and work to do moving forward.
